Story of the text:
William Ernst Henley inspires Nelson Mandela during the 27 years he spent in prison (including Robben Island) through his littérature and specifically Invictus.
Through the eponymous movie this text comes back to us: inviting us to face adversity, each of us can take up the challenge. Fate can be controlled, soul cannot be imprisoned, I am and will remain the only captain of it.
What will this look like as a tattoo?
Will be great to cover the spinal (it is long enough) – please note that it is preferable to get it on 2 lines or columns to keep the text clear with years if on an arm or biceps.
Artwork with limited diffusion:
Only a few number of copies of this calligraphy will be displayed – you are then insured to have a unique tattoo that is the result of an artistic approach and not the industrialisation of a design.
